       I don't think there is much difference in providing generic public cloud storage and specialized storage (like passwords)... Data loss always is a risk and many people put data like this in generic clouds anyway.Having backup copies is important in any case.

       Yes we will have full backups daily, and keep them for a few weeks at least. For now in just 1 location, but if we get enough financial support we will add another location.

       @tioTrue, backups are important. One of the main reason people use cloud services is cause they think their data is safer on the cloud than their local computers.And its good to hear you do regular backups at trom.I know that providers like #disroot, #snopyta, #nixnet etc. don't provide bitwarden, despite the fact that password management is very important. So I always assumed this was the reason behind it, that was my best guess.@alex

       Maybe we should ask them why @snopyta @amolith @disroot 😀 - do you guys think it is not safe to provide a password manager like bitwarden as a service?

       @tio @futureisfoss @disroot @snopyta @alex It might be safe but I honestly just don't want people relying on me for their passwords lol. That's a huge responsibility and one I'd rather not shoulder.

       @tio @disroot @amolith @alex @futureisfoss it might be safe but there are always bugs in software. using keepass locally and syncing it with some other software is definitely the better choice

       @amolithThat is the same reason for us at disroot @futureisfoss @alex @snopyta @disroot @tio

       @meazAh, so my assumption was kinda right. I understand, not everyone would be willing to take that kind of responsibility, I would've done the same if I were you.@amolith @alex @snopyta @disroot @tio

       @tio @meaz @disroot @alex @snopyta @futureisfoss If they lose their passwords, they stand to lose their files in addition to everything else; they might not have access to their file storage service, their backup service, chat platforms, social media, email, and so on. Passwords are the most critical part of online life and, personally, I don't want to be liable for that.I'm not saying *no one* should host Bitwarden, just that it's a greater responsibility than I'm comfortable with.

       True. This is why I am asking you people ;). We will then rethink about it, and if we do it we will wan people about all of this.
