@SusanInVA Thanks for the article. I disagree with the description of Ohio as a swing state at this point, although there is a caveat in the comments. The comments about Josh Mandel's 2018 Ohio Senate run are false. Mandel was not defeated in the primary by Jim Renacci. In fact, Mandel didn't run at all.

@SusanInVA This is significant because Mandel was the top tier candidate and would have been competitive against BrownMandel withdrew because of his wife's health issues, well before the Primary. Here is a quote from Politico:(2) continued

@SusanInVA On Mandel withdrawing from the 2018 Ohio Senate race:"Republican Ohio Treasurer Josh Mandel is dropping out of the state's U.S. Senate race because of a family health issue, leaving Republicans without a top-tier contender against Democratic Sen. Sherrod Brown in a state President Donald Trump won easily in 2016."(3) continued

@SusanInVA Mandel withdraws from 2018 Senate race:"We recently learned that my wife has a health issue that will require my time, attention and presence. In other words, I need to be there," Mandel wrote in an email to supporters. "Understanding and dealing with this health issue is more important to me than any political campaign."(4)

@SusanInVA This is especially significant here because Josh Mandel has just announced that he is running in 2022, to fill Rob Portman's seat.He is definitely a top tier candidate, and this article suggests that he lost in a primary that he did not even run in(5)
