@Debradelai I just saw y’all on the weather map. We have a little less on this side of the state but it’s, what, third or fourth winter event in a short time. Trees are bent to the ground and nearest town has power outages.

@Debradelai Beautiful but dangerous. I’m glad your road is not sloped! I used to live in a development with an access road that ringed the community, and it was tilted a little like Saturn’s rings are on its axis. When we tried to get to our house on an icy day like this, we’d start sliding sideways and three or four times our car ended up against the parked cars. Not fun, and insurance became very expensive.

@Debradelai You look like us. SW Kansas covered in ice with an accumulation of frost and now snow on the way. Haven’t been above 20 for a week and looking forward to a 5-7 inches the next 36 hours with wind. Our temps to be negatives for the next three days. It’s been WHITE forever, even the sky, no sun. Wind chills will be -24. Sounds like somewhere in Canada, not 40 miles from Dodge City. Crazy when you look forward to 30’s slated for late next week. Hope the electric lines hold!

@Debradelai One thing to look forward to, is the lack of certain bugs next summer. All those overwintering wasps, beetles, and hated stink bugs will be killed.I remember the big ice storm we had down here over a decade ago and the glorious tomatoes I raised the next summer. No stink bugs attacked them at all.
