Friends outside the US, are peanut butter and jelly sandwiches a thing where you live?

@Ricardus tangentially related, had a friend from Australia back in the 80s and he could not stand chocolate and peanut butter as in Reese’s. Said he couldn’t figure out why Americans ate PB on everything. Asked him if he would eat vegemite and chocolate, and he responded that it sounded like a good combination to him. We all gagged. Things may have changed in the last 30 years, of course, and he was just one guy.

@cs I tend to think of PB&J sandwiches as something I ate as a kid, but I am shocked at how many adults eat them. Maybe it's comfort food.

@Ricardus Hopefully it's just a snack once in a while, not several times a week.

@anders Well, my brother eats it every day for lunch when he packs a lunch for work. He's about to retire. And my friend Ken who runs sound for a musician you've heard of, also packs PB&Js for lunch every day. This is why I asked. I'm kinda shocked grown men eat this stuff.

@Ricardus have a friend who eats one every day. He is a vegan and works for UPS and packs his lunch. Better than a ham sandwich, I guess.

@Ricardus I can vaguely recall eating peanut butter and jam sandwiches as a child in Canada. Only young children eat them as far as I know.

@Ricardus Depends on your definition of a thing and the age of the persons 😃 /me is living in Germany and for me and the kid it definitely is. From time to time I am replacing jelly with syrup or even better marshmallow cream ✌️

@anders That said, a local cafe where I go makes these delicious Almond Butter cookies with a dollop of jelly on them, and they're delicious. But they're dessert.
