WOOOW, For some reason I had never ever tried hibernating my laptop and boy it is epic that I get to continue my work exactly where I left off...

Just don't try anything funny with it while it is sleeping :)With some OSes even adding/removing USB drive during hibernation and than waking it up can result in spectacular crash.

@joeligj12 the reason could be "I don't want to dump many GBs of data on my SSD each time"!

@joeligj12 Usually the OS manages it and you need to disable the hibernation completely to delete it.

@joeligj12 hibernate has ALWAYS been weird for me, and it always seems like sleep/hibernate mean different things across OSes, so I usually just opt for a full shutdown or leaving my desktop idle. boot times are short enough that it's not too big of an issue, and power consumption and background usage is low enough that I don't mind leaving my PC idle for an hour or two.

@joeligj12 BTW, unless you have a huge RAM and small SSD, it is fairly harmless.

AFAIK in Linux it uses swap file for that so unless you are anti-swapper you won't lose anything.

@joeligj12 I tend to just suspend to Ram as it's instantaneous, and tends to work almost everywhere these days. My Zenbook consumes app. 10% charge per 24h in suspend which is acceptable.

@thewismit @joeligj12 I was having trouble getting a hibernate-capable swap to work on Ubuntu too. Manjaro had the option right in the installer IIRC.

@Ateriath @joeligj12 I tried Manjaro but I really didn't like the terminal.I could give it another try if I knew some other options. I'm a bit of a noob, still.Thank you for letting me know though!
