Driving through downtown Aberdeen, something in my car’s engine went, “clunk! clunk clunk!” then fell on the asphalt underneath the car: “clack! clackity-clack!” Immediately, a belt starting whining and squealing, and I thought, “Oh, shit!” The belt squealed and squealed... then stopped. To which I thought, “OH, SHIT!” I’m fifty miles from home, and, dammit! I was on my way to the 8th St Alehouse to study... crap. (I went anyway.)I have a suspicion that my car heard I have money in the bank.

@fitheach Is that any different from now? 😆 Aberdeen always was and ever will be a logging and mill town, so, a lot of young, single men with a death wish (ever see old time logging and milling footage? 😱) Well, the mills are almost gone, and loggers fewer, and Aberdeen has nothing left to take it’s place.
