Not a single person in the entire store knew what the hell I was talking about.They sent me from one end of that hanger-sized building to the other until I gave up.Same with Merritt&#39;s.So I bought one on Amazon.It&#39;ll be here on Friday.My brother took OUR hand truck, so I had to buy a new one.Home Depot and Merritt&#39;s just lost a customer.THEIR FAULT.There&#39;s no excuse for working in a hardware store and not knowing what a hand truck is.END

@ThomasWic Recently a middle aged woman at Harbor Freight helped me find a manual hole punch set. It was one isle over from electrical tools and the hydraulic hole punch set. It was refreshing to have someone put effort into finding what I needed. I usually get what you got - incompetence and frustration. Every trip to the auto parts store ends that way. Any more I pull it up on their online catalog and screenshot it so I can show them what to get.

@ThomasWic Agreed. I have a story about my experience with Home Depot. I went there asking about an advertised product. I was told it was sold out. I asked if they might have it at another store. The clerk told me that he didn&#39;t know and he didn&#39;t have any way to find out. I asked him to please call another store. He said he was not permitted to do that. I never went back to that business. They pride themselves on their helpful attitude. Yeah, right,

@ThomasWic We had to register my daughter for her wedding registry at Bed Bath and Beyond. You used to use a scan gun but now it’s an app on you phone. You have to download it. Well it wasn’t working well and then you had to find the scanner part. We had to ask for help and NO ONE working knew how to help with it! Finally got it but when you scanned some items it didn’t scan as the color or model you wanted. 😩

@ThomasWic My good friend worked there. They want you to sell depot credit cards. They are under staffed. They do not have very many trained people. I shop there 3 times a week and learned if you need assistance good luck..then when you try to leave..voila! No cashiers....but you can go to self checkouts the next step in the no service experience. So you need help loading up hàaaaaaaaaa. All that available at full retail price..I try to shop mid afternoon to give me a fighting chance. ✌

I&#39;m not a frequent visitor so usually don&#39;t know where to find what I came for. Almost without exception, even when the two 18yo looking guys were in there the other day, I walk in the door, they ask &quot;May I help you?&quot; I describe the item and they tell me exactly where it is.

@ThomasWic You should have asked for a &quot;Wheeley gig&quot; or a &quot;doohickey&quot;, they look harder for me when I do that. Then you get their attention and you can describe it for them. At my Home Depot they are near or in the same isle as the Garbage cans. Left side of the store, near the grills. Sometime in my mid fifties I accepted that I spoke a different language and decided to just be an old guizer to them, I am nice and courteous and it almost always works.

@ThomasWic Ok guys must chime in on this one. Took my vehicle to get a quick oil change &amp; winterization service a few years back. Wasn&#39;t under warranty any longer so took it to WalMart service center. They paged that the vehicle was ready, so as I went to pay, asked them if they checked battery, filters, fluids etc. They couldn&#39;t FIND the battery. (It&#39;s up by the firewall on passenger side.) Asked the guy if he&#39;d heard of google....

@ThomasWic my parents own a small town hardware store. They’re thriving, very well actually. Any customer that walks in is immediately asked if they need help. They are also VERY involved in their community. Next time go to a family owned hardware store. I’m sure you’ll be treated much differently!

@ThomasWic Honestly bad management and training is all over. I went to HEB a grocery store and they had a big red (I assume soda or punch) puddle in the middle of the floor with a sign next to it. I asked them if they had a mop. They called maintenance twice. No answer. I was appalled so I bought a roll of paper towel and grabbed a produce bag, mopped it up and putt he towels in the bag. Left the remaining towels by the door with receipt. Took me three minutes and $2.
