@Rock @BeThankful I never never fed this to anyone who didn't absolutely love it. BTW, if you don't have an orange to zest you can substitute orange juice for the water.

@BeThankful @Rock Try breading and frying cauliflower florets as if they were chicken chunks, and fold them into the sauce. It is THE BEST!

@DarkoTex @BeThankful Eyeball it and scale as needed. It makes about a cup of thick sauce, enough to generously coat everything on one large plate.

@DarkoTex @BeThankful Commit this one to memory, you'll be a magician! I make it at least twice a month, even if I don't have immediate plans for it, it keeps well in the fridge. There's always something blah that it will bring to life in a pinch. Must have condiment.

@StevenDouglas @BeThankful Right on! I have been a huge fan of General Tso’s sauce for years but never had a home recipe.I can tell by the recipe ingredients this will be right up my alley...and using different chilis will be an added bonus too!

@DarkoTex @BeThankful The boiling time on Bowl 2 determines how caramelized (sticky) the sauce will be. 3 minutes is great, but if you go longer you'll be in the taffy-to-candy phase, which is great (don't stop stirring!).The water and cornstarch from Bowl 3 will equalize it afterward so that hard tack isn't an issue.

@DarkoTex @BeThankful Bowl 2 boiling time determines how caramelized (sticky) the sauce will be. If you go longer than 3 mins you'll be in the candy making stages (don't stop stirring!).Water-cornstarch from Bowl 3 will equalize it afterward. If you WANT it to be really sticky/chewy then cut down on the water/cornstarch mixture (or eliminate it entirely after caramelizing). It will set as it cools.Late Hard-Ball Stage (265° F) is great.Watch the temp carefully!https://exploratorium.edu/cooking/candy/sugar-stages.html

@StevenDouglas You sound like my Italian Mother in Law, ‘Just eyeball it’ except when I ask the question, I get a strange look from her like I asked a sacrilegious question. She gives me the side eye and answers, ‘you just feel it’ 🤪 @DarkoTex @BeThankful
