Now that matrix.org agreed to censor at Google's whim they've been allowed back, for now. It wasn't even just the Gab or Spinster fediverse clients (both of which are just forks of Tusky), but also totally non-branded clients like Husky and Fedilab merely for not having hardcoded server blocks. Frankly jn order to be non-hypocritical Element should be hard coded to only connect to matrix.org because that's the only server that has agrees to allow Google to control their content.

Also consider the aging population, most are boomers etc. who just won't bother.In Germany if you order three beers in the wrong way you may be arrested.
