@TradeMinister @hn100 epidemiology is one of the more junky disciplines. it's not just the news article spinning it either- the study authors use the term "consequences" which seems presumptuous with so many confoundersthe study is behind a paywall though. i didn't read the whole thing

It was basically saying that people using an intoxicant are more likely to use other intoxicants (Stop The Presses!) and that people who use multiple intoxicants are less likely to have jobs and relationships at 35 (Whoa! Move over, Einstein!).I mean, who knew, right? Who could possibly have guessed?

@TradeMinister @hn100 one of the interesting things about weed is that when people have more access to it, they tend to use less opiate painkillers. this is a very good thing in my viewbut it's also why pharma shills are constantly trying to demonize it

@meowski @hn100 I do not recommend getting stoned every day, and certainly no more than once. Merely cutting back to getting stoned every other day is half as much, and more effect.Really the Moslems are probably right about intoxicants. Certainly, less is better. But they have their uses.

@TradeMinister @hn100 i just think there are far worse things you could be addicted to. potential for abuse is fairly low.and it even has some medicinal and therapeutic uses which are undeniable.university labs doing these studies are funded with all sorts of conflict-of-interest money so i disregard their findings on the topic of weed
