       @DigitalDude65 True it is for Federal workers. Irony still holds because the people that generate the tax revenue get screwed at every turn but the people that get salary from the taxes get raises.

       @Rad_Grand_Dad The fact that the average American thinks bartering their time for pieces of cloth is a worthwhile investment while eschewing insurance (you know, that thing you need because you can't control the universe and sometimes it just shits on you) shows that we are morons ruled by morons.

       @Rad_Grand_Dad @DigitalDude65 It's just for federal workers now, but the messaging is clear: they want this for everyone. I think even with fed workers, it's going to gradually increase over years to $15.I was a TVA intern in 2006 making $14.5/hr (all interns started at $11; and it went up by year .. 4th year $13, grad students $14.50..)I'd be more surprised if there were federal jobs that didn't have a living wage. $15 across the board would also hurt places like TVA where they're already paying interns in small/low-cost-of-living towns $12 or $13; where that's more than enough to live on.
