I didn't bother asking anybody, because nobody knows anything, and they get angry when I ask them things they don't know.These are former soldiers of Austria-Hungary, ethnic Serbs who spoke fluent Romanian. They were captured by the Russians and brought to Romania to fight.There's almost no information about Romania in World War One, but I'm slowly building up a book's worth, and it's fascinating.The history of the London social club explained everything.

@ThomasWic OMG!!! THIS photo is wonderful and means a lot to me. My father’s father was born in Hungary. He wound up being in WW 1 as a cavalry soldier. He was captured by the Russians and spent a few years in a POW camp. He ended up a Romanian as the borders moved, and my father was born in Transylvania.

@ThomasWic I think Pompeo wants to interweave his faith with his walk serving in government, because Christians know they are serving the Lord in their whole life. Pompeo is not a captive like Daniel was but Daniel faithfully served the Lord in Babylon (Pompeo in DC).So it could well be a message of comfort to Trump voters, and to Americans in general.Here is another one; it can be taken as a message of political comfort; but the overriding meaning is, have faith in the God of the Bible.

I'm 57 and I just found out my dad saved at least 300 people in North Vietnam from certain execution simply by speaking up for them to the University. @ThomasWic I have a stash of Serbian army pics from my dad who had just graduated from the military academy in Belgrade when WW2 broke out. His father was also a solder in WW1 and died of typhus during it. Here’s dad in training. He also spent a year in Britain as part of an exchange program and became quite fluent in English. That helped after the war when he made it to a refugee camp in the British sector and was put in charge. Here are a couple of photos.

@ThomasWic I wish I knew more about these but there’s no one to tell me. It’s a miracle I have pics. Historians note that very few are in existence because of the war uprooting everyone. My dad’s brother stayed in town during it all and saved the photos. That’s Dad with the accordion which I don’t think he really played.

The Brexit party had massive success in the European elections because it was a single issue party and people voted for that. In the General Election of 2019 Farage shrewdly withdrew his candidates to avoid splitting the Conservative vote, made some very angry, but worked.
