@timr LMAO Postum sucks em! I always laughed when health nuts told me coffee was bad for me. Looks like coffee actually prevents a number of major health issues. I knew it! Too much of ANYTHING ain't good, even water and oxygen, so, balance baby! I'll take mine with cream!

@timr I remember having a smoking during labor 42 years ago, and having a smokers room. Also, offered a glass od scotch back then and prime rib. when I worked in 70s to mid 80s smoking at nursing stations..The dietary cooks were allowed to smoke while cooking!!

@timr The sixties coffee commercials were my favorite. Folgers with Mrs. Olsen “Mountain Grown for Richer Flavor” and Maxwell House “Good to the Last Drop”. Those were the two brands in the cabinet at my house growing up, coupons not withstanding. They loved their coffee — straight up, black, no cream or sugar, and freshly brewed. I continue the tradition, although I’m rather enamored with exotic varieties.

@macleod59 @timr honestly it would be nice if it was a choice. I don't think there are any smoke friendly restaurants anymore. (Canada at least).I had a joint in a coffee shop in amsterdam once. It was nice being inside.

@timr I think I see Lucky Strike, Camel, Pall Mall & Kent.Would love to find some Kent cigs just to have - my dad smoked those back in the 70s & I used to steal them; so I still remember the packaging details.btw, in 1981 my water broke around midnight. Hosp 1.5 hrs away. My OB wasn't available; at 3 a.m. the On Call showed up.He was a Texas cowboy: jeans/boots/stetson. He stood in the doorway smoking a cigarette as the nurses got me up on the table & in stirrups. Didn't even phase me!😂

@timr I love Spam. I have been eating it for as long as I can remember. One of my New Year's appetizers is shredded Spam, shredded cheddar cheese, pickle relish mixed with mayo, on a cocktail size pumpernickel bread. You put it under the broiler until the cheese melts!!! My mother's recipe.
