       @LinuxWonky I really wish there was a viable alternative to LinkedIn. For now you should keep a presence in my opinion even if its minimal info in my opinion.

       @softinio @LinuxWonky agreed. Personally I maintain a profile, but I have a unique email for LinkedIn and that email has a delete all rule as it hits my inbox. If I need LinkedIn, I’ll just remove that rule. To maintain it I just log in and approve connection requests every few months.

       @LinuxWonky @hund 1) maintaining a connection and keeping in touch with work colleagues whom you never became friends with outside of work. 2) I view my resume + linkedin + Github Profile + OSS contributions as kind of my portfolio for my career that helps with job/work. 3) I run a few tech meetups so I promote the events and the recordings on linkedin too. A side from above when looking for work some companies you can only apply to via LinkedIn as their preferred option.

       @softinio @LinuxWonky Okey. :) I've often seen people Americans talk about it, like it's something you can't live without. I never understood what it was. It's not something that seems to be used elsewhere.
