@redstarfish I'm very interested about your experiences with Scheme or CL. Do you have prior programming experiences with non-Lisp languages?

@louis I leaned to program in python last year, then I learned syntax of C. But then I wanted to learn the concepts about program design and structuring. So that's when I started reading "Structure and Interpretation of Computer Programs" by Abelson and Sussman. This book uses Scheme to talk about those things. The way this book teaches, I am already fascinated about Scheme and this book, I am only through 2.2 of 5 chapters.

@louis In scheme, the way one procedure (something like functions) can take other procedures as argument and return procedures as values has completely blurred the distinction between procedures and data. Also scheme doesn't have much syntax, the book doesn't even teach Scheme officially, yet such power and beauty. Really amazing :-)I can tell you more about it when I finish reading the book.

@redstarfish @louis >can take other procedures as argument and return procedures as valuesThat's generally called "first class functions" and not particularly special... Any modern language can do that including python, js, go...
