       @eatenpetals of course... But should you though?School environments are generally very authoritarian, even more so than the army where I used to teach.I think we will have a hard time fixing the power dynamics of society until we fix the ones in school.

       @eatenpetals well, authoritarianism exploits the inner children of its subjects. The leader becomes a parent type that has solutions for everything and the followers are never to blame for what is wrong in the world.If your life is rather shit and someone offers a worldview where it isn't your fault then parts of you will want to believe them.

       @qrsbrwn I learn obviously but I resist liking or really embracing the subject..But I think also most teachers have a moment they break into a smile, even if they're authoritative.. which makes them endearing I guess.

       @eatenpetals ah, the old validation trap. Yeah I have used this myself when younger.Now I try to not use those kinds of power tactics.Humans are sadly very easy to exploit like that 😞

       @qrsbrwn I'm sure it's not used as an exploitative end.. it just helps in class management and prevents wasting time in democratic discussions for small things..  But still. The know it all kind authoritative teacher is hard to be or live up to

       @eatenpetals using it to manage people is exactly exploiting it. I agree it doesn't have to be with malicious intent though.I would dare to say that the power techniques used by teachers are often used with the intention of doing good. It does teach that those techniques are ok though...
