@pagrus Thanks! It took me almost two hours because I had to doctor the buttons and I like taking my time with small precision electronics stuff because I hate having to open stuff like this back up due to sloppiness :).

@kzimmermann Yep, the image I'm running is based on Void Linux and its a full linux system underneath. You can also get debian and ubuntu. Its a pretty sweet gaming handheld if you like to tinker.
