       @mametsuko raclette is the dish itselfjust like stew is neither boiling water nor the stuff you put in itthere are cheeses made specifically for it that are usually called "raclette of something" (e.g raclette du valais)so you're not "racletting" or "melting raclette" but are "making raclette", basically

       @aetios @mametsuko yes but it's not literally called "raclette", it's qualified, people just usually shorten it to just that, right

       @mametsuko I think raclette means either "melted cheese" or "rasted cheese" (from Bratchäs). @absturztaube might know more about its origin, though.

       @mametsuko in general, its the melting of the cheese in this way. but there is also cheese called raclette cheese especially if it is really good for melting it in this way
