@kris @rose_myrtle @b2e Unfortunately, Telegram is also centralized and the backend is proprietary.I prefer Matrix for communication and believe it has great potential for the future.

@realcaseyrollins @b2e @kris @rose_myrtle Yes, the client is FOSS.Again, Matrix is good for chat, and supports E2EE (using it by default for DMs).If you are looking for Peer-to-Peer, Jami is another good option.

You don't often see that with FOSS projects due to the cost of actually distributing an app on Google Play/Apple App Store.
