#Fediverse, what is the most boring training you've ever had to sit through?I'm taking a "Togaf Advanced" training today, which could be so interesting considering its about enterprise architecture, but alas..

@Gina I had to attend the mandatory basic IT security training when I joined the company.... as a IT security expert, penetration tester, and red team expert.Pro tip: put energy drinks in your coffee mug.

@Gina about 10 years ago, I was unemployed a while. I eventually got a job offer as a Unix sysadmin but it didn't start for over a month.This crossed me over a threshold where a job search agency was required to send me into "training" to improve my job prospects. Didn't matter that I had an offer, to keep receiving benefits I needed to be trained.I attended a week of basic computer skills classes. It was all they did. They taught me how to open Word and make words bold.

@basil Good god that first one.I actually attended a cool GDPR training where we went through all the worst case scenario's. Sort of turning it around. Made it much more exciting :')

@Gina A Phishing Safety module that was written by me, and had my name in the credit for the module. I deliberately failed it the first time, expecting it to be a humorous thing for my infosec coworkers to see and ignore.But alas, no. I had to a HR mandated Information Safety course, of which I was consulted on the content.:blobcatcoffee: The main point I took away from that: "Do not tempt the karmic gods, they care not for you, nor your author credits."

@Gina Anything and everything relating to management. It's so far divorced from reality as to be a fiction unto itself.Sure, *theoretically* some of the practices discussed could be used in the real world, but everything they discuss is so comically cut and dry that it makes you wonder if the person writing it actually *did* any management.I spend so much time feeling tried and overwhelmed that quitting everything and becoming a baker sounds more like a vacation than switching careers.

@Gina when the company I work for got acquired, they assigned everyone a half hour "how to use email" training. This was about 4 years ago. As a company we didn't even really use email for internal communications.Bonus: it contained such gems as "now, don't go throwing out your fax machine just yet"
