@cinnabarowl@tube.privacytools.io Not that I know anything, but Javascript is a terrible language from what I’ve seen, so why would you choose it for server-side scripts? But whatever, maybe you’ll say that one can just use Typescript or Coffeescript for that. But even then, what’s really the point with sticking to Javascript? The whole thing has just really nasty optics. Javascript is a language hastily cobbled together solely for the purpose of beating the autistically for pajeet codemonkeys designed cesspit that is Java to becoming the standard of web scripting – and then it has only won by being named after this loser language so to get these pajeet codemonkeys and soydevs excited for next Java product. With this background, my body will always be unable to judge anything built on this pile of shit without a deep rooted sense of disgust and my guts tell me to distrust this. Compare with C and Shell optics. Even Python looks sexier.

I don't consider every use of....that word, to be a "meme" though, so I think that's where the disconnect is. It's not like everyone using it is using it as a joke. It actually is a useful adjective for describing software. I can't speak for if that's what you were seeing in your spam filter, but in general, we need some word to replace it then since it just fits so well.
