It seems like attack on @torproject impacts lightning network too 🤔

@yegorpetrov from personal experience and from other reports, I have not had any issues on my tor only node yesterday or day. Dozens of routes and payments throughout the days. Were you having issues?

@yegorpetrov to me it would make sense if new peers / channels had issues. What I suspect is after a peer is connected via tor, they have their own communication channel not depended on tor (at least in some way). I don’t know. It’s strange to me.

@yegorpetrov so in this particular tor downtime, it seems to be connection issues, but fine if you're already connected.

@yegorpetrov Probably just wait is my assumption. Reconnecting your whole node may jeopardize your other channels. Not sure if there's commands to disconnect a peer and try reconnecting again, but I would assume the node does that anwyays.

@cycryptr I guess I’m not going to store too much sats on lightning. Or at least there suppose to be some sort of bypass when tor is down. Can’t be dependable on tor anymore

@yegorpetrov You can use both tor and clearnet. And if you're worried about losing funds just have a clearnet watchtower. Everyone should have a watchtower anyways.

@cycryptr I guess umbrel runs only through the tor. But I will dip into it. Still learning this rabbit 🕳
