So people should be aware that, now that Parler's been shut down, Fascist insurrectionaries are trying to go to Gab, which a) means we should be on the lookout for new Gab instances instances trying to Federate, and b) there is an outside possibility that overzealous cloud services may try block all ActivityPub servers to prevent Gab from spreading. #fediblock

@NightRose luckily for us, Gab seems to have given up on any efforts to bridge with the fediverse. Once again, it’s a walled garden. They’d probably actually lose money trying to federate at this point, since the persecution complex thing is a huge part of their marketing.

@sean @NightRose we should be on the lookout for new Gab instances instances trying to FederateWhen #Gab broke their federation code, they doubled down by disabling it completely. It would take too much work to make it work on the #Fediverse, it wouldn’t be worth it.there is an outside possibility that overzealous cloud services may try block all ActivityPub serversIs this possible? I feel like there are too many instances for this to work on an instance level.I am curious, is it possible for the protocol itself to be banned?
