       @SusanInVA These people have power because they won the culture war over the last 50-60 years. So it's not their personal power they are exercising, it's the accumulated power of decades of cultural undercutting. They weaseled their way in through the intellectuals, then the social scientists, then the media in general. once they gained control of the story telling, they controlled reality, eventually. now, they have an indoctrinated populace. an army of npcs and those scared to say otherwise.
