@Gina not really, no. usually, i tend to have something vague, but this year kinda doesn’t feel like that.maybe the combination of being happy to have made it through 2020 and having to sit with the scars that year left before i can think more specifically about how i’d like to improve myself.

@Gina I try to make mine daily, not based on some random grouping of numbers 😀I think every morning about my goals and how lucky I am to have been born, by no effort from me, in a situation (place, parents, etc) that is more comfortable that 95% of the rest of the world.

@Gina NYE somewhat came surprisingly and I strongly missed the disconnect I usually get from being away from home, e.g. at the chaos congress - so I didn't manage to make mine in time x) But my karate trainer challenged us to work up our push-up numbers, so that's something that's set. Other than that I'm hoping my travelling aspirations work out after all. How 'bout you?

@chillja @thewk @lasombra I want to work on my human and creative side again, and to live more authentically. I'd like to do more meaningful things. Too much of this year was spent scrolling on my phone. I've been stuck in 'I should do what is good for my career' for too long. I'd like to make youtube videos, start a blog, livestream, talk about IT and mental health, be honest with myself about what makes me happy, and possibly even move to a warmer country.

@Gina I want to read more, write more and speak more. I want to improve my communication skills. Maybe learn a new language. I think generally humans we read less, write less and speak less than ever before, it's really important to not lose that part of being human.I'd also like to be more consistent with my workout routine, but I already started that in November. I use it not just to have a healthier body, but to strenghten my mental health. Just to have a more structured life. Use the computer with purpose.There are probably many more, maybe should write a post about it. :) I will not sweat if I can't complete all of them, the effort matters more.

@Gina I don't really do new years resolutions, I'm not a quick enough learner or do-er to do them so I have general life goals written in notepad (I would like X amount net worth, I would like to eat healthier, je voudrais au meilleur parler en français, etc) and they're broken down into smaller pieces and I basically just spend my whole life working towards those things.

@ikt That looks like good French though. I'm an all or nothing kinda person. I'm either working out religiously, or not at all. Deep diving into something that interests me, or ignore it mostly. I'm trying to embrace the moments of hyperfocus and then slowly turn it into a more sustainable hobby, instead of quickly burning through it.

@ericbuijs @Gina cycling is a lot of fun! But you need to be in the right (head) space for it. In 2015, when I climbed the Alpe D'Huez with a friend, I cycled nearly 2500 KM. In 2016, the year I moved to the UK, I only managed 350 KM. After that was a period in Zaandam. Did some cycling there. But the area is so boring. Am now back in the Utrechtse Heuvelrug; should be a lot more fun!

@moiety As it happens, I cycle a lot in the Utrechtse Heuvelrug Both on road bike and MTB. If you're into MTB I can recommend the MTB trails between Veenendaal en Amerongen. Also Veenendaal has a cheap shop for MTB rentals with good maintained bikes and a friendly owner. @Gina
