       @kazuma Gamefreak puts 0 effort into their textures. From what I've heard, a lot of detail is handled by the shaders in-game, so model rips look like shit because they have awful flat looking textures without the game's shader engine.

       @kazuma The best part is the models were ridiculously high poly for the 3DS because they wanted to be able to reuse the models and textures on the Switch, so despite the awful textures making the models look horrible, the games ran at terrible framerates because the system couldn't handle the models. They did the exact opposite of what you're supposed to do for low spec hardware- instead of low poly models with good looking textures, it's high poly models with flat textures.
