Very typical of rolling releases. How often do you get that many updates on Debian Testing?@selea

@selea I like that command line: path on one line, command on the next with an arch connecting the lines.

@murtezayesilYeah, that's like the one thing that annoys me about rolling releases and which gets me to try a fixed release like once a year. And then I realize that software is 𝘰𝘭𝘥 on such a distro and maybe I don't actually mind those updates so much.@selea

@selea To be expected when first changing your repos from stable to testing. If this is long after having done that...the devs have been really, really, REALLY busy.

@friend I am on @Solus :solus: which is a rolling release with stability in mind. I last upgraded 6 days ago and I have close to 160MB of upgrades now. I will attempt to go for a month without upgrading and see how big the updates would get.@selea

@murtezayesilI'm on openSUSE Tumbleweed :opensuse:, last upgraded on 16th December and have 972 MiB waiting for me. :PI would also say that Tumbleweed has stability in mind, but they achieve that with other means: Automatic OS snapshots, an automated test suite and full rebuilds of dependent software when a library gets updated. And that last part actually increases the number of updates significantly. When they ship a new libc version, you're basically going to re-download your whole OS.
