The notion that some espouse that, somehow, a party that proposes the establishment of a Collectivist society and a party that proclaims that individual rights are paramount are the same thing (irrespective of the honesty or lack thereof of individual members) is ludicrous.Either the product of a defective brain or a conscious effort to advance Collectivism.Uniparty my ass.

@Debradelai I think it's because they seem to work together on things that conservatives don't approve of. I'm certainly not an expert, and my opinions are colored more by social media than news. But they have both courted the CCP over the last 30 years it longer. Makes everyone suspicious.

@Debradelai Party ethos yes...but we should know them by their fruits as individual. Why is Trump on such an island amidst principled conservatives who are stonewalling the most individual right centered member of the Republican Party perhaps ever? How much different would the political landscape have been without Senor “Passionate about some things” McCain? Or bitch tits Flake? Both from my proud State now represented in the Senate by lefties Sinema and Kelly?Asking for a friend...🥸

@Clayrjr Sinema and Kelly accurately represent your state.A Republican running there without pandering to collectivists might as well stay home.

@Debradelai I’m being oblique. My apologies. My question is what makes an individual congressmen a collectivists or an individual liberty adherent? Where is the bright line of distinction? Is it in the party platform or within the party member? Are parties more important than actions? Do individual actors transcend their party? How would we classify them as a unit of analysis?I see a bright line of nationalist vs globalist...I’m literally trying to make sense of the RINOs.

@Debradelai Perhaps they refer to politicians of both sides of the aisle, who despite coming from parties with different agendas, their actions promote a much more similar agenda. It's no big news that sometimes politicians act differently from the declared direction of their party. Some RINOs do just that.I don't know how well does that describe the reality. Just trying to make sense of their claim (which may well be false, you know better than I do).@watch4thedrop

@Debradelai I recall 30 years ago a conversation about how the media is choosing winners and losers in politics. If they want them to win they ignore negative and focus on fluff, if they want them to lose they cover negative stories and hide anything good. Social media is a great way to combat that, if you can figure out what is true. The censoring from YouTube Twitter and Facebook is a serious crisis. In the past I voted for the best person for the job. In the last 10 years though

@Debradelai Democrats never vote against party. So no matter how good a person I think they are I cant support them Republicans still occasionally vote against the party when they think it's right, Democrats always vote how Nancy tells the to vote. Not the same.

@Debradelai With respect, the party platforms are certainly quite different. I think the point being made was that most elected "members" of those parties don't give a rat's patootie about their party platforms. They are about money and power (their own money and power), exclusively. And there is really no "partial" about this, you're either all-in or you're not.

@Debradelai I've seen many Republicans actively denounce individual rights and attack individual rights with a vengeance, as if they are offended by individual rights and those who would hold such beliefs. When I say "uniparty", I know they are two parties technically, but I'm referring to THOSE kinds of Republicans.

@Clayrjr @Debradelai My View:Despite the values CLAIMED by the total RINOs (McCain, Romney, etc...), they do a little conservative play-acting, but are SO deeply involved in the DC Corruption Machine that they're willing to "deal cross-aisle" with the Democrats in ways that are BAD for America at-large, but enrich their own friends & family, at the expense of the very values they ALLEGEDLY espouse. Just how it looks to me.
