I wanted to use that project for translations with #Fedilab: https://github.com/uav4geo/LibreTranslateMy idea was to create a crowdfunding through opencollective to get help with server charges, but it requires at least a project with 100 stars. What similar crowdfunding would you advice? Thank you.

@resynth1943 @fedilab projects that are unpopular ARE THE ONES THAT NEED SUPPORT THE MOST! Imagine Patreon blocking creators with less than 50,000 subs. Nobody would be okay with that. GitHub adding built in upcummies was a mistake.

@resynth1943 @fedilab I haven’t used Liberapay, but what about users who don’t use GitHub or GitLab or GitProprietarilyExtended? Assuming it doesn’t support Sourcehut or self deployed things like Gitea, it means that it contributes to the harmful centralization problem as well.

@fedilab unfortunately the fees add up to quite a bit through opencollective, so I'm less likely to financially support projects with only opencollective as an option to donate since i don't want that much of my donation taken out. personally i would just use liberapay and post the approximate monthly expenses, but that's just me.
