The last WW2 bomb that exploded (that I can find) was in a German field in 2019.https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-48746557

@tedu This happens regularly. Bombs are often found at building sites and need to be defused. For that often whole city blocks are evacuated. Sometimes defusing is unsafe and they detonate them with smaller charges in the hope that they won't fully explode. The last one that I saw on the news was on the polish-german border a few months ago, underwater: https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-54522203
