@EngOnDemand by the time i move out to the boonies in a year, it should be much better than it is now, which is pretty decent actually. it'll be well worth it when the avg rural service is barely dsl

@graficgod I'm on the Beta Tester list.(I helped codesign the original DirecTV system). Anything above 40 MBS is worth looking at,You will still get some rainfade on occasion and may need a "hat" for snow.We will see. 170 MBS is a fine speed.

@Debradelai Looks like 14 MBS."Starlink says it should give you between “50 and 150 MB/s with 20-40 milliseconds of latency.” Starlink customer “FourthEchelon19” is getting 161 megabits/second download and 23 megabits/second upload speed."

@Buddy @Debradelai Buddy, download the app and do a survey. It's free. If you have full blockage. disregard. This system will help millions.

@EngOnDemand @Debradelai I'm in the boonies using a 4G LTE solution which is mobile. We also RV. I've been following the Starlink solution and find it intriguing. However, it's not mobile. The big 3 carriers have all come out with fixed location LTE home internet service to compete. Also not viable for us as we need mobile. There are many many mobile 4G LTE internet options out there. I just had a 3 month crash course. It works, not perfect, but it works.

@EngOnDemand @graficgod once it got to the days of having I want to say 40 DL speed around here, i stopped complain about slow internet. I think it’s 100 at this point and i don’t even think about internet speed anymore.

@Oo @graficgod Fiber can go over 1 gigabit per second. Depending what you want to pay. Most people are happy with anything around 100 megabits per second.I do 50 megabits per second and have not complaints.

@EngOnDemand Doesn't look like I'd be able to do a beta test. But this will definitely be a game-changer.I just hope they don't have data limits. That's the biggest thing with satellite. The speeds are pretty good, but the data limits are what sucks.
