       I’d prefer that you worked on passing the ERA and defeating The Equality Act. Do not attempt to negotiate with the enemy. The entire purpose of the act is to invisibilize women and give away their civil rights to trans deviants. @LGBALLIANCEUSA @feministstruggle

       @SheChanges @feministstruggle The Equality Act contains important and long-overdue provisions for LGB people. It was actually originally introduced in the 70s in a different form, and has been reintroduced every Congress since, IIRC. Only more recent versions have added ‘gender identity’ —it was originally just sexual orientation—so it is incorrect to say its purpose is to invisibilize women. The new gender lobby that has hijacked the gay rights movement is driving that. This is our approach for now. We’d be making about the same amount of noise to oppose it, so the point is to draw attention to its harms to women either way. The likelihood of our amendments being accepted is about the same as it being defeated, depending on the makeup of the Senate after the GA runoffs, but we must speak up. It’s important to support LGB people’s civil rights, as in many states they are denied housing and accommodations/services with no recourse. Feminists in Struggle are also working on the ERA and that is absolutely important as well.
