@Moon I'm worried that by the time I get there, it'll have been hot war'd into hell.

@kaikatsu the biggest problem you're going to have by the time you can get there is that they won't feel like they need anything from foreigners to be hospitable to you.

@Moon Oh yeah that's another thing. In a generation or two they'll have decent universities and that's really all they need from the outside world. I don't see why they'd need immigration anymore, they already don't allow permanent residence afaik.

@kaikatsu if I were ten years younger I might try to get over there and learn as much as I could.

@Moon Hopefully they start allowing permanent residency for some reason. Even though I want to be there, I don't like the idea of getting thrown out at 60 when you're all used up work-wise. What happens if you're on a spousal visa at like 80 and your wife dies? Do you just get shipped back lol

@orekix @Moon From what I've heard they'll entertain you if your Chinese is bad and then try to talk to you in English after. Like "aww he's trying! so cute. Anyway [english]." If you're more than HSK4 they'll just get frustrated right off the bat and go to English.

@Moon I couldn't overcome through all author's self-repetitions about "clean cities", but the tendency is really remarkable: than more "democratic" governments annihilate public freedoms during this year, than more competition with "China's socialism" becomes tougher. American infrastructure in a terrible condition, society damaged and doesn't have any idea which direction it goes. On the flip side - China has at least 20 years of booming, until new generation of relaxed "millennials" will be born in there.80% of engineers and architects in CTV - from Arabic world. 80% programmers in retail - from India... </>
