@kaniini @sean i remember this time my shitty ex and i went to a local head shop in their terrible neighborhood to score some kratom because i was dopesick and the guy in front of us was looking for a meth pipe (which i'm pretty sure it's illegal for stores to sell in the state of washington). then there was the time we were in SF and walked past a dude standing in the middle of the BART station right by the entrance stairs shooting up in plain sightit's like all the meth just shuts off their sense of discretion and self-preservation or something

@sean @kaniini oh yes loli'm normally pretty comfortable & able to take care of myself in big american cities, even in seattle i'd routinely go out alone at night and never had any trouble. SF was the first place i'd ever been where i was terrified of going outside without a partner or a male friend to protect meat one point some dude tried to sell my ex (then-partner) coke in broad daylight as we were walking by. coming from a place where i was used to selling drugs to people i knew in private, or at the very least coordinating a meetup somewhere the cops wouldn't be able to watch, that was quite the culture shockand oh my god everything is so LOUD, there was just nowhere to get any peace and quiet except our hotel room

@kaniini @sean yeah it was genuinely traumatizing for me in a bunch of different ways, it took me at least a week to recover from that trip. my relationship never did (but i ended up marrying someone infinitely better than the rapist furry scumbag i was with at the time so that's okay)
