I was very angry we did not have hate speech laws, "truth in advertising", making it illegal to promote false statements in a political campaign, etc. But if the government controls hate speech laws, they can criminalize any speech they do not like.Now imagine handing Trump this power. With his Supreme Court justices, "his" DoJ.Terrifying.Liberals were supposed to be the champions of free speech. The ACLU protected the Nazi rally in Madison Square Garden and the protest in Skokie Illinois, among other things.You have to protect speech, whether or not you like what's being said. And you gotta pray to your deity that level heads will prevail and people will not resort to violence. It's our only shot at preserving democracy and freedom, because once you start down the path of criminalizing speech it's one of those annoying Snakes and Ladder slides that takes you to the beginning and you gotta start society all over again.I'll give Germany a free pass, though. They've already been through the worst that can happen and were able to reset their society. Having some restrictions on speech is probably the only way to keep things in check, but I think it should be repealed in a generation or two.

@Sophie @Craftplacer @enigmatico @redneonglow Yeah, won't really work for federation. Especially since your server will send the domain it's setup with in all of it's responses. That's also why you can't just change the domain of your instance without breaking everything.

@Sophie @Craftplacer @enigmatico @redneonglow This is why I do all my CSP headers in Nginx and have that disabled on the backend.It breaks the onion address otherwise.We'll, unless you've got a cert for the onion address but I don't have that kind of money.There are rumours CAs may be allowed to issue DV certs for onion v3 addresses and I think LE said they'd be willing to.They also have a lot more flexibility to do stuff like that now that they're on their own root and not cross signed by another CA.

@Sophie @Craftplacer @enigmatico @redneonglow Right, that's what I do. I have an onion address for my instance that users can access it from.Media isn't served over the onion address which is a bit annoying. Not an easy thing to solve tho. Might be able to be worked around with media_proxy tho.

@sjw @Craftplacer @enigmatico @redneonglow I don't want to modify the CSP for my regular domain because HTTPS is good and upgrading resource requests is not a bad idea. :3 I could make another vhost/port nginx conf just for pleroma for tor purposes, maybe another day

I think right now I'm adding headers twice or rather modifying the ones coming from the instance with headers_more, I don't need both but I want to make sure I'm not turning something important and protective off first.
