@coolboymew @SpudsRudeEye @jeffcliff I think the politics and the accompanying drama that comes along with it are brought on by something more primal in how people are and how they get along. It's a vector for a lot of base, ugly, disgusting parts of human nature that once upon a time we knew were a lot harder to handle on the internet than offline. They'd even pop up offline in various social settings, and we'd just know to avoid people like that. Now, with how things are, we can't "other" the sanctimonious busybodies because they have the good views and fight harder for them than we do.I want it to end, too. But it won't. It doesn't look like it's getting any better, either, and that scares me.

But that's besides the point, I tried building a wall between me and my friends once and it hurt a lot and I regret doing it. Things are better now, though, I patched stuff up a long time ago.
