I can’t reach North Koreans through this toot, but perhaps some US Americans need to read it.elections != democracy

@gioypi Their system is so flawed that it is shameful. And to see them going out and ‘spreading democracy’ (aka regime change campaigns) is annoying.Serious problems, and hard to solve. Glad to be an outside observer. Now, I want a quieter executive and less noise so we can concentrate in much more important matters.

@gioypi elections is one way, what came after it is what works. Simular minds started to congrat the winning team, that ends the real problems.

@hansw Probably, but I was referring mainly to the flaws in their election system, like @design_RG said.It seems that a vast portion of the people believe they have a democracy worth praising, while in fact the political freedoms in the US are below average. The artificial division between only two major sides (with little differences in practice?) is common worldwide, unfortunately. Still, the way candidates are nominated in the US is absurd by European standards. There is also the vote inequality because voters from each state have different impact on the national results.

@gioypi @hansw Very well said, Achilleas. I just wrote a reply to a toot in another instance on exactly this point.Their two party system is ideal for controlling the people, while offering an ‘alternating’ cycle between the two. It’s shameful and with all the other convoluted things like the archaic electoral college, a puzzle which people in other countries look at with disbelief.
