@Gina just came off a conf call with a customer. Now I'm going to have some calls with people in Europe, now that they are awake I got a check oil light in the car on the way to the office this morning so I need to get it serviced tomorrow.

@Gina Ooooh, ok-ish? What’s that? Like a 5/10? I have to work today but because of corona working from home. 🏡 Which isn’t a good thing for me. I hate working from home. And I wish I got more sleep. @loke oh wow I didn't realize you were based in Singapore. How is life over there? Are you guys in lockdown too? Car stuff is the worst. I have to get my clutch/gearbox (?) looked at since my car decided to break down in a tunnel a few days ago. Hope yours is ok!

@Gina no. We are doing pretty well here. We have not had a community infection case of the virus in two months here so social distancing and even mask wearing has lessened somewhat. I still wear a mask going out and most Vietnamese do too. We have imported cases but they are placed in quarantine and tested upon arrival and dealt with.

@matt lol cats are the best and worst coworkers. Eh mostly IT jobs here in the NL. It's not going so well though, since half the country is looking for a job and I'm still recovering from burn out.

@Gina the situation here is under control at the moment. The number of new cases have stayed at single digits for quite a while now.They had something that was pretty much a lockdown (but it wasn't as extreme as what they did in some European countries) back in April, but since then they have very slowly opened up, and there are still lots of restrictions. Like like I only come into the office every second week, and there are limits to the number of people that can be in a restaurant for example.As for my car, I'm going to drive it home this weekend and then go to the service place tomorrow morning. I'm hoping I can still drive it that far. I have no idea how severe such a problem might be.

@hjertnes nice! Enjoy your time off. Meh, job search is job search. Every once in a while I find a position I'm excited about, I'll apply, look up the office, envision my life there, prepare for the job, dive into their technologies, buy outfits for the interview, cyberstalk my new coworkers, get the company logo tattooed... and then nothing. Rinse and repeat every two days. So fun.Edit: congrats on the new job!! :)

@Gina It takes a few weeks to convince your body to get up early. I dislike running at any other time of the day now. Running through a sunrise just cannot be beaten.My runs are usually time based (need to get back for work), except long weekend runs which are generally distance. Power is the effort measurement for the most part.

@Gina Here’s a thing; broaden your search. Globally there are a lot more companies hiring “remote” workers due to a lot of office workers having to work remotely anyway. In a recent survey, around 80% of companies said they’d consider a remote hit right now. So maybe you can find an employee outside of NL, but stay where you are. And when COVID dies down a bit, you’ll get to travel - even if it’s just for Christmas parties. 😊

@Gina We’ve had a spike in cases, so masks are now mandatory when out on the street (since yesterday, actually). But you can still walk around and enjoy the city. I actually find it more manageable now, with a lot less people.
