Tried to watch a Twitch channel from the Pinephone and the phone almost died. I think I expected too much 😂😂😂. I haven't tried anything else though.

@jrballesteros05 did you use the website or streamlink + mpv?

@Matter In the laptop I use mpv with youtube-dl and works perfectly. I haven't thought about it for the Pinephone.

@jrballesteros05 That is sad. What do you think the issue is?

@GreetingsFrom617Patroclus It's not so sad as it sounds. As I understand Firefox for Pinephone is the desktop version and it is not optimised for phones, additionally PostmarketOS is quite buggy, I haven't tried on mobian. I think that might be the problem. I have to debug more properly.

@jrballesteros05 That makes sense. Which OS would let you run Android native apps? You could try finding a solution on F Droid that way maybe?

@GreetingsFrom617Patroclus There is anbox which allow running apps from android in Linux. I haven't tried because I want to see if there is a native way to watch Twitch in the Pinephone. I tried with mpv but at the moment video and audio are desynchronized so I am going to try it later with keyboard because running commands in cli in the mobile is quite a pain in the arse. I got to try anbox in the future though, it would be a solution for important apps from android, like banking.
