       They still sell water in plastic bottles, huh... I guess there is no viable alternative for that, unless it's glass. But glass is expensive...

       @enigmatico you can buy water in aluminum cans or paper cartons in US stores but it's considerably more expensive than bottles :blobawkward:

       @proto I just saw an aluminum can of water... but I don't think that's too environmentally friendly either. Probably less damaging than plastic but still... eeeh... not good.

       @enigmatico maybe my knowledge is outdated but I thought it was cheaper to recycle aluminum than it is to mine new aluminum?whereas with most plastics, for-profit companies basically have to be coerced into recycling italso, aluminum and glass are SO MUCH more pleasant to drink from

       @proto I don't know about other countries but here, recycling plants are a myth.We are supposed to separate our waste so they can recycle later, but what they do in reality is to throw all the waste into a dump site. It's all a scam.
