@tagomago Yeah, I finished it last week.Only at that moment I realized that the first episode I watched was 10 (the season finale) and not 01. I thought that sort of non-linear narration was a bit unusual for Ridley Scott 😅Anyway, you'll see what I mean when you get there...

@codewiz Oh-oh... 😁 K, first I thought it's a bit subpar, like, it's pretty ambitious on a visual level, but not enough money was there on some scenes. Also there are some editing issues, imo. Well, I guess you can say the same of many series and movies today, even from big studios. Cheap production is allowed.But the story really is compelling, and it's well developed. I like how most of the leading characters are somehow compromised by the other side.

@tagomago Yes, I also felt that the budget was too low for Ridley Scott's typical settings. Every location was conveniently very static, and bare. It doesn't stack well against the worlds of Alien/Aliens and Blade Runner.The androids, on the other hand, have more depth and more time for psychological development than Blade Runner's "replicants" or Alien's "synthetics". I can't tell you more.

@tagomago The post-apocaliptic setting, yeah... the ship escaping humanity's foolish self-destruction... the survivors fighting each other for futile reasons...Industria is an authoritarian bureaucracy, while the religion of Sol is superficially a different kind of totalitarianism. Yet, both aim at re-educating people to their belief system... and imprison those who don't comply.

@tagomago However, children are protagonists in Conan, while in RbW they're more passive. The real protagonist is obviously Mother. All the other characters exist to highlight the various sides of her multifaceted personality.

@codewiz @tagomago oof! I found episode 10 a bit confusing, and I watched in in the right order… :ablobcatsweatsip:The whole show feels thin for Ridley Scott. But lots of shows have had better subsequent seasons, I’m hoping this is one of them.
