       Why are open source games so often lacking polish? Indie games don't seem to have this issue, so what's up with that?

       @katp32 I think in general, people in open source communities are just bad at UI and UI-adjacent activitiesprobably because they're usually the least technically interesting parts and "back when I used UNIX in 1995 we had shitty interfaces like this and it was fine"
