@fedilab Liberta Video at https://video.liberta.vip is tagged as a French & English language-preferred instance (see the About page as on any Peertube instance) but the reality is as anybody can upload, thera are more various languages in content. Moderated, active (I am the admin). Thx!

@ChocobozzzYes, I already use this Api. But that's for the default instance before that the user choose a new one. Then users have a helper to easily choose their instance.

@fedilab A couple of those instances ban communism in their CoC in the same sentence as nazism. I think it's pretty dangerous to put them as default because of that. They seem to all be membres of 'the peertube alliance', whatever that is.

@fedilab So I have checked a little bit more and apparently the alliance is nothing more than linking other instances that have different languages. the it, fr_be, de_, ru, en-GB, da instances are members. They have the same CoC.https://tpa.peertube.dk/Peertube.co.uk also seems to have copyright infrigement videos. just look at the videos when opening the instance.

@silvershovelWhy would I complain. I don't believe a client application, especially one that is not connected to a specific service (like the birdsite app would be) is responsible for the actions of users, just as a hammer manufacturer is not responsible when a woman bludgeons her husband to death for cheating. I would assume that Fedilab chooses to not determine which instances can be accessed using their general purpose application, and probably released a statement to get disingenuous agitators off it's back. Which never works of course, because their goals are never actually what they claim them to be. @fedilab

@Niquarl I've seen what passes for "extreme right" these days, maybe not particularly in France, but in general. I don't think it has a lot to do with culture. The only tangible difference between Nazis and Communists is who they're selling the lie to. Nazis sell it to the race or nation, Communists sell it to the working class. Both are cults designed to lead to authoritarianism, where human populations are managed like cattle.
