Another #new #skill #learned and checked off my bucket list. I just painted my first miniature! Not bad for the first crack at it.

@gh057 I can't really figure out a sense of scale here, but it looks like it might be just under an inch tall? If so, congrats on achieving such detail! Are you considering carefully attaching something to resemble the string?

Thanks @Ted. It's about 1.5" tall. This particular figure came from a kit which teaches you how to get some fairly impressive detail just by using the right paint mixture and the right brush (though having 2.5X magnifying glasses definitely helped a lot as well). Given that this was part of a learning exercise, I don't know if I'll put much more time into it. However, I am starting to look at my boardgames and wonder which ones are getting "upgrades". Those pieces will get proper attention.

@Ted I'm thinking of getting either wizards for Labyrinth or goblins for Castle Panic as a start.

@gh057 Ah!Using the right paint and the right brush helps that much? I’m intrigued, but I’ve never even been able to figure out the dexterity to handwrite legibly ):Boardgames —> the pieces/figurines which represent your character/its position? That’d be cool:"Where'd you get these?""Where'd I get what?""These painted figures.""I painted them myself!""Ooh!"

@Ted This is the kit if you're interested: https://www.amazon.com/Reaper-Miniatures-08906-Learn-Paint/dp/B00NTMC49G/ref=sr_1_2Honestly, it was one of those things I wanted to try my hand at and the instructions made it very easy to understand the technique.
