       @mr64bit @BlackWinnerYoshi @thomasfuchs  Wouldn't a single host be 255.255.255.254, or is that a single other host?

       @dheadshot @BlackWinnerYoshi @thomasfuchs Think of an IP + mast or CIDR address as describing an address within a range of addresses. 255.255.255.255 (/32) is just a single address.255.255.255.254 (/31) is a range of two addresses, but you can't really treat it like a network, since a network needs both an ID and a broadcast address. A network for two hosts has to be 255.255.255.252 (/30), covering 4 addresses in total.
