@thor quick save :smug:It's probably just that they aren't as popular where they have expanded. Personally, I've never even been to Chipotle and Chick-fil-a is too expensive. For Wendy's, I don't really know. I much prefer it to McDonald's because the food simply tastes better but I rarely eat out to begin with.

@amolith eh, do you google everything before you say it, without ever relying on what you've observed? i know i don't. the fact that you bothered to google it? i wouldn't have even bothered.there must be something about how they expanded i think because most american chains would work abroad imho, i mean, for pretty much every food concept you have, there are smaller restaurants doing it here, often many of them.

@thor @a7 I've never taken any business classes but I've always assumed that was how they do things. Maybe the founder cares more about operating locally than expanding overseas so they focus on that more. Maybe Chipotle has done market research and found that Germans were less likely to eat their burritos and expansion there wouldn't be profitable enough to make it worthwhile. There are tons of possible reasons

@thor @coyote The reason all of this is so funny is because one of my friend's favourite foods in chicken tenders. Every time we went to the dining hall together last semester, he would say "i'm gonna go get me some tendies :smug: " (with a similar expression). He accidentally called them tendies when asking for some at one point and we all died laughing while he died from embarrassment and corrected himself. Now we've all taken to calling them that to fuck with himso you saying "what is a tendy?" was unexpected and hilarious

@thor @amolith Its a noticeably different flavor and eating experience if you were american, texmex is much blander and american, mexicali is sorta actually Mexican (Northern region ) and is actually like legit good, if you find a Mexican in a truck who doesn’t speak English in US hes probably making mexicali

@thor @amolith A tier anything would be something like a mom+pop corner store with a small building that's always packed. With chicken, a savory sauce and crispy outside is important, and the quality of the meat is an obvious one (so no fast food chains really apply for A-tier unless I'm just sorting fast food chains alone)Really, some foreign places are in A-tier too, I remember some korean place with chicken that was delicious
