what is a good IM service for someone who never checks their phone and never checks their IMs? my housemate is like that, so i can never send him links without walking over and talking to him, which is annoying. also, i can't tell him stuff from bed without yelling, which is also annoying...

@orekix yeah, he doesn't give a fuck, honestly, but always checks it when i go "hey, have you checked your X?" and i don't wanna have to do that, so ideally, something needs to appear on his computer or phone that only goes away once he's clicked or swiped it.

@thor I don't know of anything that actually fits your needs though. On Linux, I have my notification daemon configured to never dismiss notifications automatically; I have to do it manually. If I'm away from my PC for an hour, I can come back to a ton and I can go through them one by one and decide if they need action or just dismissing. No idea about something similar for Windows though.
