Something got fucked with the JRE audio file. I just switched to 1.2x speed and I sound normal. Maybe a 48k to 44,1k transcode

@adam I went to go check the audio-file on Spotify.I got three 30-second commercials then the audio stopped. Hit play again, the commercials started again.Spotify is a major fail.

@darrenoneill @adam I pay for Spotify so no ads, but you can't do podcasts on TV app, PC app and webapp only play them in 720p, and all the controls go away on any of the mini/PiP players. And holding phone for 3 hours makes no sense.But youtube version is fine and streams in 1080. And the RSS feed still works great.

@darrenoneill let it play and leave the script running in the background. The script can watch the window name or something like that and act when appropriate.I'm busy all day otherwise I could hack something together.

@adam For me it sounds and looks fine in the Spotify apps on my iPhone and MacBook Pro, even streaming it using my Amazon Echo Dot as a Spotify Connect speaker. I only noticed that the levels are a bit low compared to the intro (which was overmodulated) and you both are moving around a bit, so sometimes dropping off. The content was good, though.

@Bishop Understood. The bigger issue was it would play ads but wouldn't play the episode. I'm sure it had something to do with my browser, pi-Hole, or something. Still, a pretty big fail. I have a Spotify account and was logged in. Getting to a MP3 shouldn't be that hard!

@darrenoneill agreed. Like I said, I figured it would play eventually. Spotify glitches up sometimes and plays like 4-5 ads on music, but eventually gets to the music. If the file isn't working, I doubt it would be your PiHole. Mine seems to work and I've added a bunch of lists. Maybe something else tho. 🤷♂️

@Bishop They do. It's what happens when podcasts are paywalled. Even though there are free Spotify accounts, they still are paranoid people will pirate the content. Not that DRM has ever worked to stop that.
