       @zx @foxgloved Hmm.. I'm not sure. I actually know very little about what schools are good for sociolinguistics. However, I do know that Indiana has a very active phonetics concentration, led by Dr. Berkson and Dr. De Jong. They're doing a lot of research using 3d ultrasound which is one of the only 3d ultrasound machines for linguistics use in the country (in Steven Lulichs lab). Our main sociolinguist retired last year though and we trying to find a new one when covid
