       #jitsi has gotten a lot better recently, it's now working great with #firefox based browsers, including screen sharing as well. I'm pretty happy with it now actually. I'm wondering how much bandwidth and cpu power is needed to selfhost it

       I couldn't get many people to create a real weight on the server so my testing results is very limited and probably not accurate but if you still want it here are some semi educated guesses:CPU: 400MHz/userRAM: 128MiB/userBandwidth: Enough to download and upload 720p video x usersIf server is for a family of 5 people, 2.5GHz CPU and 1GiB RAM should be enough.Disclaimer: I couldn't get enough people to do (extensive) enough testing.@Twelve @nezhac

       @murtezayesilI mtselv is curently working on setting up an old laptop as a server. It has 8gb of ram, but the cpu only runs at 1.76ghz so i should hiy that teletivly easy.Can you use 1080p to put more load on it? Or is it forced to 720?@nezhac

       I think encoder sports 720p at most. In all of their demos, Jitsi only supported 720p at most. Which is okay given that most laptops don't have anything better than that.@Twelve @nezhac

       @murtezayesil @Twelve thanks for the info. Interesting to know. I think it will stretch most little arm boards way too much. Would need something x86, or a beefy arm cpu

       @murtezayesilI persobaly do hace a 1080p camera, but usualy run it as 720p. I will test this tho when i get my server up and runningI have no idea how it will run on arm. I imagen you can do a a basoc a call and mabye not usibg a wevacm all the tine may save a bit. Wprthteyong if you have one laying around. I do, but also want to set up a mateix server which defently will not run on my pi for very long. So an old laptop it is. Hopefully. @nezhac

       I have a server on a rented VPS that has x86_64 Intel Xeon processor. I am not sure Jitsi has binaries for ARM, you may need to compile yourself.AFAIK the main components of the server is written in Java so you may have luck.@nezhac @Twelve
